PSHE

Our subject leader for PSHE is Mr Hawley

At Debden, we believe that the promotion of healthy bodies and minds is integral to us achieving each one of the elements of our school vision. PSHE is embedded in all that we do to enable our children to become independent, responsible, healthy, confident and compassionate members of society.

Our PSHE curriculum has been built with the aim to support the development of the ‘whole child’, by helping them to understand how they are developing personally and socially as well as promoting their social, mental and physical development. The curriculum is enhanced through the use of SCARF resources (safety, caring, achievement, resilience, friendship). Through our curriculum, children develop the ability to tackle the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up. They are taught how to keep themselves safe, physically and emotionally through learning about growing, changing and appropriate relationships. We also provide our children with opportunities to learn about valuing differences, being their best, and rights and responsibilities in order to appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society.

Our PSHE programme of learning and wider curriculum will enable children to meet the End of Key Stage Statements as set out in the Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education Guidance.
